Altri’s profits rise to 17 million Euros
In the first three months of the current year, Altri sold around 274.3 thousand tonnes, representing an increase of 8.2% on the same period in 2016.
In the first three months of the current year, Altri sold around 274.3 thousand tonnes, representing an increase of 8.2% on the same period in 2016. 264.4 thousand tonnes of pulp were produced during the first quarter, which was 5.4% more than in the equivalent period. Exports rose by 8% year-on-year, making a total of 250.5 thousand tonnes. Altri’s total re- venue stood at 159.8 million Euros, which was 1% lower than in 2016.
From January to March 2017 Altri’s net result was 17.12 million Euros, representing a drop of 31.8% when compared with the 25 million Euros recorded during the same period last year.
These results are explained by the average price per tonne of pulp which was 7.6% lower in the first three months of 2017 than in the same period the previous year, and by the investments underway with regard to Celtejo which affect the unit’s production efficiency.
The EBITDA generated during the first quarter stood at 40.1 million Euros, reflecting a 32.2% fall compared to the EBITDA recorded during the same period the previous year. As regards the last quarter of 2016, the EBITDA rose by 3.4%.
