We focus on promoting and publicising good practices, as well as implementing safety procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drills simulate\nan actual emergency scenario in different situations, for example, fires,\naccidents, earthquakes, floods and other incidents. They are intended to test\noperationality, draw up strategies, address shortfalls and train those\ninvolved, by promoting routine conduct and action when faced with an emergency\nsituation. This helps to minimise any panic which may arise during an actual\nemergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Forestry work\nhas its own specific issues to deal with, not only because of the type of\nmachinery and equipment used during operations, but also because of how work\nsites are generally dispersed, isolated and difficult to access. <\/p>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"uk-padding uk-padding-small uk-padding-remove-horizontal\"><div uk-grid class=\"uk-grid-small\"><div class=\"uk-width-auto\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-svg\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.xl.pt\/conteudos\/themes\/altri-news\/img\/chaveta-vertical-verde.svg\" alt=\"Separador\" \/><\/div><div class=\"uk-width-expand\"><h3 class=\"uk-margin-top uk-margin-bottom\">Two further drills are earmarked for 2019, in the North and Beira Interior regions.<\/h3><\/div><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>As well as\nraising awareness and providing certified training (DGERT) on the subject of\nHealth and Safety in Forestry Work, in 2018 Altri Florestal also initiated a\nWork Accident Drill Scheme at forest work sites \u2013 logging, maintenance or\nplantation sites. The scheme aims to carry out four drills, one for every\nforest region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two drills were\nperformed in 2018, simulating work accidents during forestry operations. These\ndrills were held in the Mid Tejo and Western regions, and tested safety\nprocedures on trees hooked in pre-harvesting forest practices, as well as the\nemergency procedure to be implemented in a work accident situation, regarding\nthe communication and location of the property\u2019s meeting point, as indicated on\na map containing the geographical coordinates, distributed to Forest Service\nProviders. Foi testado o\nprocedimento de seguran\u00e7a em \u00e1rvores enganchadas em explora\u00e7\u00e3o florestal com pr\u00e9-abate, bem como o procedimento de\nemerg\u00eancia a aplicar em\nsitua\u00e7\u00e3o de acidentes de trabalho, no que diz respeito \u00e0 comunica\u00e7\u00e3o e \u00e0 localiza\u00e7\u00e3o\ndo ponto de encontro da propriedade, identificado em mapa distribu\u00eddo aos\nFornecedores de Servi\u00e7os Florestais com as coordenadas geogr\u00e1ficas.
